Train Stories

Gera, 24.08.2018

Summer is almost over, there is a nice fresh air outside, and the best part of it is that my days of driving my car to work for 2018 are over. I am back to my priviliged life of being driven by the train.

There are so many things I like about taking the train to work, but the one things I like the most is hearing strangers talk about their lives. I can not resist hearing them tell all about it to strangers.

The day before yesterday on my way back home there was this young woman talking about how expensive it is to live alone. She was complaining about having to live in a small apartment and having to pay 380€ a month. On her next sentence, she made the brilliant remark that if she would be in a relationship she would be able to afford an even more expensive flat, like one of those fancy ones for 600€ monthly.

I woke up a few minutes before my stop, the young woman was still talking flats to that man, she pointed out to have the willing to live in Berlin, next to Alexanderplatz. The only thing stoping her was her sick Grandmother living in Gera.

I find quite amazing how some people try to convice themselves about anything by telling some BS to a stranger. Is there any shame on telling people you can not afford your dream life? is this a side effect of Instagram and FB?

Is this modern life?
